Arun Veterinary Group

Arun Vet Group is often invited to get involved with the local community and we love to ‘give something back’ to the pet loving public. Matt and the team have close links to the local schools and societies and we are passionate about hosting talks to the younger generation, engaging with them about pet care and their future role in caring for our pets.

The team love to help with community projects – it’s a great opportunity to meet other local businesses as well as the pet owning public and their pets. We’re also proud to say that we sponsor local teams, societies and events, ranging from football clubs to village Fairs. Take a look at the list of our friends we like to support!

  • About the Pulborough Harvest Fair

The Pulborough Harvest Fair is organised by the Pulborough Community Partnership. It’s a popular event that unites local businesses hosting several different stalls, music and plenty of local food and drink. The harvest fair always successfully brings the community together.

Our contribution to the Pulborough Harvest Fair

Our team provides a stand at the Pulborough Harvest Fair on an annual basis and we raise money for the various charities we support by selling merchandise and holding competitions. We have also hosted a dog show over the last few years. Don’t forget to come and say hello if you spot us!

  • About Ashington Festival

Ashington Festival is a community event held on Ashington’s Recreation Ground during the height of summer. Businesses, clubs and societies all contribute to sponsor the big day as well as hosting a stall. The Ashington Festival has grown in popularity in recent years and it now hosts a dog show, car display, car boot sale as well as live music, a carnival and fireworks at the end of the evening.

Our contribution to the Ashington Festival

We enjoy completely immersing ourselves in this event and as well as holding a stall we also joined in the carnival by entering a float! Several team members dressed up for the occasion including our head nurse, James, throwing himself into the role of Cruella Deville (despite his protesting, we all think he secretly enjoyed it!).

  • About Storrington Vipers

The Storrington Vipers are a football club for 7-16 year olds competing in the Horsham and district youth football league as well as local friendly leagues.

Our relationship with the Storrington Vipers

We are proud to say that we have previously sponsored the club, providing a financial contribution to pay towards their football kit.

  • About Findon Sheep Fair

The Findon Sheep Fair dates back to 1261 where it began as an annual three day event. To this day it remains a very popular event, holding a variety of traditional entertainment including a sheep judging competition, barn dance, tug of war competition, falconry display and a sheepdog demonstration!

Our contribution to the Findon Sheep Fair

We will be hosting a stall with raffles and competitions and there will be plenty of opportunity for the public to come and meet us and chat about the service we can offer their pets!

  • About Storrington Brownies

The Storrington Brownies are always busy participating in various activities from cooking to camping! They also participate within the local community and can often be seen at the annual flag ceremony on Remembrance Sunday.

  • About Storrington First School

Storrington First is a very popular local primary school and it has an array of different facilities to benefit the children, including their own swimming pool, learning kitchen and music room.

Our contribution to Storrington First School

We love to share our enthusiasm and knowledge with children and often visit the school to talk about our job and why we love it so much. We support the education scheme and recently donated a bird box camera to the school, which saw ten eggs laid and seven blue birds hatched!

  • About St. Mary's C of E (aided) Primary School

St. Mary’s School was constructed in 1972 and consists of 353 pupils. It has a special educational needs room, a wildlife pond and an on-site swimming pool!

The school has a close relationship with the Parish Church of St. Mary and the children are encouraged in Christian worship.

Our contribution to St. Mary's C of E Primary School

We are all familiar with the phrase ‘when I grow up, I want to be a vet’ and many of our own vets dreamt of becoming a vet from a young age. For this reason and because of its proximity to our Pulborough practice, we visit the school to chat to them about pet care as well as giving the children an insight into what happens when they bring their pet to the practice.

  • About Storrington's Christmas late night shopping

Storrington’s Christmas late night shopping event hosts an evening of entertainment with fairground attractions, festive lights and Christmas songs. The shops extend their opening hours and offer festive gifts for family and friends.

Our contribution to Storrington's late night shopping

Our Storrington branch stays open to welcome late night shoppers, inviting in one and all for a festive drink and a chat! We also like to take ‘Victor’, our practice mascot, out for a stroll around the town!

  • About West Chiltington's Village Fete

This is an annual event held at West Chiltington’s Recreation Ground, bringing together local businesses as well as raising funds to support the village. In addition to hosting their own dog show and tug of war competition, the village fete has many other stalls ranging from arts and crafts to fruit and vegetables!

Our contribution to the West Chiltington Village Fete

Our team support the village fete by providing sponsorship as well as having our very own stall. We invite members of the local community to come and have a chat with us and to receive some complimentary pet care advice. The team also run a number of competitions and we sell a selection of merchandise with the proceeds being donated to a number of local charities.

  • About Storrington Duck Race

If you are looking for a “quackingly” good, fun-filled family day out, the day promises a great range of entertainment for all the family from funfair rides and fantastic food to face-painting and ‘hook a duck’.

Recognised throughout the county as one of the most entertaining and action packed days in the Storrington social calendar, join us on the second Sunday in May at Riverside Walk and Library Car Park to race ducks and raise money for The Friends of Storrington First School (FOSS).

Our contribution to The Storrington Village Day

We are delighted to be one of the main sponsors for the Duck Race. With our new Storrington site right on the door step of the event we are able to provide on hand advice as well as fun competitions. 2017 saw the introduction of our popular “Soak the vet” event.
